The Executive Secretary of Future Earth, Taipei, Dr. SC Candice Lung, participated in the Science Council of Asia (SCA) 2019 Meeting held on December 3-5, 2019.

Academia Sinica is one of the 32 members of SCA and Dr. Lung, on behalf of the Vice President of Academia Sinica, attended the 2019 SCA Meeting held in Naypyitaw, Myanmar. The conference theme is 'Research and Innovation for Sustainable Development in Asia' and the important issues include (1) Revitalize Asian Partnership for Achieving Sustainable Development, (2) Promote Skills Development for Economic Growth, (3) Diversify Utilization of Natural Resources for Sustainable Development, and (4) Alleviate Poverty through Socio-economic Development. Dr. Lung participated in the board meeting of SCA and discussed the 2019 SCA initiative with other participants. The initiative was then announced on December 5, 2019.
