is a global network of scientists, researchers, and innovators collaborating for a more sustainable planet. Bringing together and in partnership with the existing programme on global environmental change, such as DIVERSITAS, the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), the International Human Dimensions Programme (IHDP) and the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), Future Earth is an international hub to coordinate new, interdisciplinary approaches to research on three themes: (1) Dynamic Planet, (2) Global Sustainable Development and (3) Transformations towards Sustainability. It is also a platform for international engagement to ensure that knowledge is generated in partnership with society and users of science. It is open to scientists of all disciplines, natural and social, as well as engineering, the humanities, and law.
Assembly, Governing Council, and Secretariat are the three central components of Future Earth Taipei (as shown in the following figure). The assembly composes of the representatives to various Future Earth entities and give advice to the Governing Council elected by the assembly. The Governing Council make decisions and oversees secretariats' operation. The Secretariat includes Global Coordination Hub and distributed Global Secretariat Hubs.

Future Earth provide the knowledge needed to support transformations towards sustainability. The focus on systems-based approaches seeks to deepen the understanding of complex Earth systems and human dynamics across different disciplines. Future Earth uses this understanding to underpin evidence-based policies and strategies for sustainable development.
Each region of the global also faces unique challenges, so Future Earth have global hubs, regional centers and offices, and national and local committees and structures that propel research toward unique solutions to make progress on sustainability. The main strategies to reach Future Earth's visions and goals are (1) Research and Innovation, (2) Building Networks, and (3) Global Narrative.
