* Opening (5 minutes)
* Bottom-up Greenness for Our Better Future
by Jin-Chuan Duan (45 minutes)
Whiledisappeari g forests, melting glaciers, and frequent extreme weather have warned us that the planet Earth is stressed, the current path and efforts to go green seem to have reached the stage of diminishing marginal returns
(or no longer cost-effective). Even the popular term ESG has turned into a new cliche in the business world and policy circle. Cost-effective solutions rest in figuring out implementable ways to internalise the negative externalities (i.e.,environmental degradation) generated in our current systems of producing goods and services. Join us to listen to Prof. Duan on his Bottom-up Greenness (BuG) approach through coordinating banks, NGOs, FinTech companies –a new pathway to our sustainable future.
* Sustainable Finance,Sustainable Future
by Christine JT Chang (30 minutes)
As climate emergency looms over us, sustainable development is of utmost importance in the current global economic transition! And why does “Sustainable Finance” play an indispensable key force in promoting the global sustainable movement? Christine Chang, General Manager of PwC Taiwan Sustainability, will share how the capital market is reacting to sustainability trends and how Taiwan’s recent policies are geared towards creating a sustainable ecosystem, providing the platform (or the carrots and sticks) that incentivize companies to embed ESG in their business strategy. Only then can we initiate a virtuous circle to protect our one and only Mother Earth!
* Panel Discussion
Jin-Huei Yeh, Jin-Chuan Duan, Christine JT Change, and Stephen Yang
